PROBLEM:

Rural electronic sites are particularly exposed to lightning GPR in spite of the best conventional protection. Severe storm tracks and resistive earth (sandy clay, limestone, granite) combine to momentarily saturate grounding systems with high frequency energy. Lightning then creates a path to lower ground through the conductive electronics.

The Carson 1730-24 stands alone as the central location for most of the buried FTTP design – Either or both, the central point of the Tether Design or a Central Splice Location

The 1730 has 9.7cu.ft. of open space compared to 5 cu.ft. in a “straight wall” 1730 box and actually more room than a “straight wall” 2436 (9.4 cu.ft.). (Bottom measurement is 24”x42”). Due to the flared out design, the 1730 will accommodate all the slack of distribution, service and tether cables.

Use the 1730 for 6-8-12 port terminal mounting and /or splice case mounting. Make the 1730 the center ofthe “Tether design”

ITW Chemtronics® has included all the cleaning supplies necessary for a successful fusion splice and 2.5mm fiber optic connection in this convenient kit. Electro-Wash® PX Precision Fiber Optic Cleaner and QbE® Cleaning System are included for performing the CCp™. Swabs and wipes are included for cleaning the fusion splicer and work area. Swabs are also included for cleaning ferrules, alignment sleeves and

Customized field termination is now made possible for all environments, including outside plant, with Sumitomo’s Lynx—CustomFit Splice-On Connector. It provides advantages over conventional termination methods, namely preterminated jumpers and mechanical splices.

Unlike mechanical splicing methods, which require index matching gel with a limited shelf life, the Lynx Splice-On Connector provides a quick method of permanently splicing a factory polished connector without hazardous adhesives. Moreover, fusion splicing the connector generates superior results over mechanical splicing with less back reflection and lower insertion loss (typically 0.05 dB or less for fusion splicing versus 0.3 dB for mechanical splicing).

The Lynx—CustomFit Splice-On Connector is compatible with a vast array of existing splicer brands in the market. Customization in the field, ease of use, elimination of hand polishing, reproducible results, reliability, and unprecedented accuracy in connectorization makes the Lynx—CustomFit Splice-On Connector the new choice in fiber termination.
