SOLUTION: LIGHTNING SHIELD

• Detects imminent lightning and eliminates the potential fault path through the electronics for the duration of the threat

• Remote management to monitor events and routinely test the site generator or battery plant

• Low cost of ownership; payback in one lightning storm

Due to the flared out design, the 1730 will accommodate all the slack of distribution, service and tether cables.

Use the 1730 for 6-8-12 port terminal mounting and /or splice case mounting. Make the 1730 the center ofthe “Tether design”

It provides advantages over conventional termination methods, namely preterminated jumpers and mechanical splices.

The Lynx—CustomFit Splice-On Connector eliminates the need for maintaining an inventory of precise and varying lengths of preterminated jumpers, allowing the field technician to customize the OSP termination in the field, ensuring quick and accurate connectorizations. It also eliminates the added space and cost required for a splice tray.

Unlike mechanical splicing methods, which require index matching gel with a limited shelf life, the Lynx Splice-On Connector provides a quick method of permanently splicing a factory polished connector without hazardous adhesives. Moreover, fusion splicing the connector generates superior results over mechanical splicing with less back reflection and lower insertion loss (typically 0.05 dB or less for fusion splicing versus 0.3 dB for mechanical splicing).

The Lynx—CustomFit Splice-On Connector is compatible with a vast array of existing splicer brands in the market. Customization in the field, ease of use, elimination of hand polishing, reproducible results, reliability, and unprecedented accuracy in connectorization makes the Lynx—CustomFit Splice-On Connector the new choice in fiber termination.

Until now, the right tool just didn’t exist for cost effectively testing short fibers. Handheld OTDRs and Fault Locators lacked the resolution and in such short spans while mini-OTDRs were too large, too expensive and too complicated.
The new MT9090A from Anritsu finally addresses this need by providing all of the features and performance required for installation and maintenance of short fibers in a compact, modular test set. The MT9090A represents an unmatched level of value and ease of use, while not compromising performance. Data sampling of five centimeters and deadzones of less than one meter, ensure accurate and complete fiber evaluation while a simple testing sequence requires only one key press to initiate – allowing anyone to make error-free measurements.

The MT9090A represents a new era in drop cable and premise testing. Its ease of use, low price, high-resolution and size make this the perfect product for “last mile” and intra-building testing.
