The Lynx—CustomFit Splice-On Connector eliminates the need for maintaining an inventory of precise and varying lengths of preterminated jumpers, allowing the field technician to customize the OSP termination in the field, ensuring quick and accurate connectorizations. It also eliminates the added space and cost required for a splice tray.
Unlike mechanical splicing methods, which require index matching gel with a limited shelf life, the Lynx Splice-On Connector provides a quick method of permanently splicing a factory polished connector without hazardous adhesives. Moreover, fusion splicing the connector generates superior results over mechanical splicing with less back reflection and lower insertion loss (typically 0.05 dB or less for fusion splicing versus 0.3 dB for mechanical splicing).
